I think the next step (and logical conclusion itself of VSCode) will be either more text-only ways to access the tool, and/or better seamless remote editing. For a genuinely multi-platform, try to edit-all-the-things editor that is not rooted in code from 1980, it's been very nice to see such a huge and fast community develop around VScode. I'm also very happy that VSCode has taken off so well. Some org-mode files I've used have actually used org markup, python, R and latex all in the same file and ran their different parts and invoked the correct syntax highlighting as needed. IDE? I mean, whether its VScode or emacs, everything is integrated and runs-that past IDEs I've used are typically very platform or toolchain specific. Maybe, a mouse-first approach vs a text-first approach? For me, I view graphics and latex equations rendered inside emacs regularly, so the graphical part certainly is very much there. I don't see a huge difference in what you mean though. I do just genuinely enjoy hearing how people use their editors though. I don't mean to start a flame war or anything. Example: Citation with page numbersAccording to Maksim, these data are indicative of greater efficiency. Use “p.” for a single page, “pp.” for a range of pages (separating the two numbers with an en dash). When you’re quoting or paraphrasing a specific part of a source with pages (e.g., an IEEE journal article citation or IEEE book citation), you should include a page number to point the reader to that passage. You should never label the number with a word like “reference” or “citation.” In both cases, the bracketed number alone indicates a citation. Example: IEEE in-text citations treated as nouns suggests that further investigation is required. This is a more concise way of using in-text citations. In this case, you essentially use them in place of the author’s name (and therefore don’t mention the author’s name in your sentence). In-text citations can alternatively be treated as nouns in your sentence. Example: Placement of IEEE in-text citations in sentencesJohannes suggests that further investigation is required. It’s not required to mention the author’s name, but you can. In-text citations are usually just placed at a relevant point in the sentence-for example after the author’s name or the quote you’re citing, or just at the end of the sentence. You need an in-text citation whenever you quote, paraphrase, or summarize a source. Frequently asked questions about IEEE citation.
